Dog on allergy shots?
I have a pit bull with terrible allergies. In December we took him to a specialist and started him on allergy shots. He started out with small doses and has only recently started getting the full dose a few weeks apart. So far we have not noticed much difference and we are still giving him Hydroxyzine anti histamine three times a day like before. The vet said it could take anywhere from 4 12 months for it to kick in fully. Does anyone have experience with allergy shots in dogs? How successful have they been for you? Any insight would be helpful.

Is coffee good against spring allergy?
I have really bad allergies, my eyes get itchy and swollen, I get a runny nose, I sneeze a lot and it makes me cough. But I have noticed that drinking coffee makes me feel better, is there something related to that or am I just imagining things?
My girlfriend got an allergy shot, whats wrong?
Ok my girlfriend had an allergic reaction to strawberries the other day and we took her up to get her a shot. there was an intern on and the doctors got her to do give her the needle. they put the needle in her lower back. That was 3 days ago and her back is in alot of pain and its a little swollen, we've put those icey hot pads on it and tried aspirin to help with the pain but nothing seems to be working. She wont take medicine because of the side affects so I could only get her to take aspirin. So what might be wrong, shes in alot of pain, is there anything she can take with not alot of side effects to help with the pain. why is she in such pain?she called over to the emergency room where it was done and they said they think the intern put the needle in too deep, but they dont know for sure, and its hard to get her to do anything including going to the hospital. So I was hoping I can figure out a way to help before I force her to goit is at the injection site where its beginning to swell, and its been 3 days since the shot and shes crying in painand if it helps she was injected with the allergy shot with steroids in it, I dunno if that makes a difference I dont much about the allergy shots
If I have allergy would my child have it too?
I am allergic to million of things for example dust mites, cockroach, fire ant, mosquitoes, cat's hair, shell fish, squid, scallop, lopster, crap, mango blossom, pine etc., much more even my dermatologist got surprised of how much I'm allergic too and my Husband have allergy with eggs and pine.. both of us don't have asthma but skin and food allergy. Will my child have it too? I'm so worried about that because its painful you have to guard yourself from everything, your skin will be sensitive to lots of things.... its terrible Anyone have useful information please let me know. Do i have milk or lactose allergy?
I know this is a silly question does anyone know if i could be lactose intolerant or have milk allergy?I have alot of stomach cramps & pain, after having milk on cereal,in coffee tea i always need the loo about 5 10mins afterwards. If i have milkshakes i get get tight chested & cough alot depending what milk is in teh shake. I dont eat that much cheese to notice if im the same with cheese or just milk....i can be the same with some ice creams also. I get alot of gas & pain with it,i cant hold in my stools as it goes through me quick. I do eat bread alot for lunch but because i have alot of pain with stomach cramps im unsure if the bread can cause trouble too...?i do get other symptoms but not sure if they are linked to somethign else?fatigue,bloating,stomach cramps discomphort somedays i get hardly anything & others can be bad & last aldaymuscle pain bad muscle paini sometimes get a little dizzy & feel slightly sick. as i say not sure if they are a diff thing...... id be gretful if someone could let me know if they think i could have a lactose or milk problem? Why don't allergy pills work every time I take one?
I have BAD allergies, and I've noticed all my life that sometimes an allergy medication pill doesn't work I use a variety Claritin D, XYZAL, Loratidine, Allegra D when I use it. I know that I should wait at least an hour, but the pill doesn't take effect after waiting sometimes 5 hours. I would say that most of the time though, the pills work. I take one about every other day.Right now, I'm sneezing like CRAZY. I took a Claritin D this morning, and it never took effect. My nose has been worse than ever, and I used a last resort, the nasal spray. This sadly didn't help out either. Someone please give me an answer as to why these medications don't always work I've also tried getting fresh air outside, but my nose just seems to be getting worse. omgggg
Who Should I go to for Allergy Shots?
Since this procedure will last for years, I want to make sure I find the right person and that they don't miss something and then I've wasted 5 yrs getting shots.1. Is the test for allergies I'm most concerned with Rhinitis all the same i.e. same exact allergens injected under skin for testing ?2. Is the allergy test basic enough that all doctors will come up with the same results3. When it's time to make up a formula of allergens to inject me with for the shots is this all strcitly based on the earlier testing? i.e. if I was positive for 5 allergens, then those 5 allergens will be put in my shots? 4. Thus, is a second opinion extremely important if the 1st doctor is board certified immunologist and if so, what do I compare from the 2 doctor visits? Thanks
Is this allergies, a cold? wtf?
I just got home pittsburgh from a trip to New Orleans, and halfway through my trip, my left eye felt like something was stuck in it.. like an eyelash. It got really irritated, and hurt soo bad.. but I couldn't find anything in my eye. It eventually moved to my right eye too.. So I got some eye drops, and kept putting lotion on them. Not sure why, they just felt dry and irritated... it went away for 2 days. It started to come back on my last day there, now i'm at home with a runny nose, extremely runny eyes, a very slight sore throat.. no cough though. I don't know if i should be taking allergy medications, or cold ... My eyes get crusted over if i'm sleeping.. or just run like crazy when i'm awake... its pretty embarassing.. obviously, theyre also red and swollen.helllp
Weird Allergy to cats? =/?
I have never been allergic to cats until last year. What are the causes of this sudden change? After 10 minutes holding cats these mosquito like bumps appear and it itches all around. I want a cat too..Is it possible to get rid of this? any medicine? and i never heard of this allergy before
Nut Allergy Sufferers!?
My girlfriend, who is at medical school is writing a paper on nut products in cosmetics. As a male nut allergy sufferer, I don't use a wide range of cosmetics, so don't really know what products nuts are in. Are peanut allergies hereditary?
I don't know anyone in our family who has it yet my 4 year old daughter does. Worried a bit by this allergy as it's one of the most dangerous. Any info from other parents of children with allergies or people who have a peanut allergy is greatly appreciated.
Skin and Lip Allergy to Lettuce?
Hi I have a random allergy. Whenever I eat or handle lettuce, my hands and lips break out. Does anyone else have this problem? I've read that others have an " internal" allergy to lettuce, but nothing topical. To make matters even stranger, it's only fresh lettuce that bothers me. I can eat handle the bagged lettuce that has been washed and treated for freshness just fine. I've tested my allergy with different types of lettuce, including some I've grown myself, but I still break out. Last night I had two trips to the salad bar at a local restaurant and now my lips have swollen up so bad, I look like I had botox... Anyone else experience anything like this?? Thanks
