Has anyone had a false-negative on a skin allergy test?
I have had allergies all my life. I have horrible seasonal allergies that I can barely make it through without large doses of Benadryl and Nasonex, and I can no longer touch cats because every time I do I start sneezing and breaking out in a red, itchy rash. Today I went to see an allergist for the first time and had two skin allergy tests done, one was a scratch test on my back and the other was a subdermal allergy test where they stick the needle under your skin and inject a little pocket of allergen under the skin. The scratch test showed absolutely no allergies whatsoever, and the subdermal test showed only one very mild allergy to mold. So, what gives?? I KNOW for a fact that I am allergic to cats, and I have had seasonal allergies since I was very young. My allergist says it's " non allergic rhinitis" but I don't buy that for a second. How would that explain the sneezing and itching around cats, or the need for antihistamines during allergy season? Wouldn't antihistamines NOT work for me if I didn't have allergies?Is it possible that these skin tests were false negatives? Does that happen with skin tests? I have always heard they were very accurate, but now I'm having serious doubts about the validity of this test. Any answers or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Has anyone had a skin allergy after a WASP sting?
I am trying to pin point an allergy I seem to have and wondering if it was set off by a wasp sting..I have had blood tests due to itch and rash on limbs only and they all came up clear... it is very very slowly going but would love to find out what caused it.. I have all hypo allergenic bedding .... and all the creams didnt work... just wondering if any one had a similar thing.......?
PPD skin allergy cure?
Hi.I've been allergic to PPD hair dye for as long as I can remember. My skins reacts to the substance, but fortunately not as violent as the other cases. I plan to dye my hair really soon, but I am quite allergic to it.I wanted to know if there would be a permanent cure to my allergies. If there are any medications that I could take to help cure my allergies to PPD.Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Lately i've been getting red, non raised, and not itchy red 'rash' like patches of skin. they arent raised at all, and they don't itch and they're very small. i actually went to the doctor yesterday because i was getting them in my lower abdomen and my bikini area i had recently did a TERRIBLE job shaving LOL she said that it was just razor burn or ingrown hairs but now they're also scattered on my chest and some on my stomach.i asked my parents and apparently we have a new fabric softener detergent..and i'm thinking this could be the case. does anyone have experience with this? if it gets worse or its something to be concerned about i will go back to the doctor ASAP
